Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.”

To have your child baptized at Epiphany of the Lord Parish, please complete the following steps:

1. Baptism Forms: Please complete and submit all baptism forms to the Epiphany of the Lord Parish Office at 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605. These forms may also be placed in the collection basket at Mass.

2. Baptismal Preparation Meeting: After your paperwork is reviewed, a baptismal preparation meeting can be scheduled. If you have attended a baptismal preparation meeting in recent years, this requirement may be waived.

3. Baptism Scheduling: Once the baptismal preparation meeting is completed or waived, the baptism and presider (either a deacon or priest) can be scheduled. Please note that baptisms are scheduled after weekend Masses or Saturdays or Sundays at 1 p.m.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Parish Office at 419-698-1519. God bless you!
