Official Announcement

EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2021 

Bishop Thomas has appointed Fr. Melwin Dsouza, SAC as pastor of St. Michael’s Ridge, and St. Isidore Marysdale and the Bend, all rural Defiance County. He will remain at Epiphany of the Lord through June 30, 2021 with plans to also take a much-needed vacation to India once his visa is approved. 

From Fr. Eric Mueller: We thank and praise God for Fr. Melwin and his service here at Epiphany (and remember, he will be here until July) and let’s keep him, his new parishes, and our parish in prayer. 

From Fr. Melwin Dsouza: Here’s the good news and now it’s official! Bishop Thomas gave me a new assignment and appointed Pastor St Michael’s Ridge and St. Isidore Marysdale and the Bend in rural defiance county. While I thank God for His blessings on me, I’m also grateful to Bishop Thomas for his confidence and trust in making me a Pastor. No doubt I’m going to miss the Epiphany parishioners in East Toledo but my prayers are always there for you. You all are most welcome to visit me at my new place after July 1st. In the meantime keep me in your prayers for my visa renewal as well as for a smooth transition as I prepare to take up this new responsibility to be a pastor. 

Due to the many priestly needs throughout the diocese and retirements outnumbering ordinations, we will not be receiving another associate pastor here at Epiphany of the Lord.
