Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear Epiphany Family,
Thank you to everyone who came to our Facilities and Mission meeting on January 29th. I hope it gave those who attended a broader context and story to our process. The Task Force felt it was important to gather more feedback from parishioners to help aid us in our discernment of a decision (I repeat again that no decision has been made). This decision will also be taken to our finance and pastoral councils, and from there it will go to Bishop Thomas. This has not been an easy process for anyone but a necessary one for us to be a better mission and stewardship oriented parish family. Please continue to pray for me, the task force and councils, and our whole parish that God will guide and lead us to a fruitful decision. God is with us and invites us to a deeper trust in Him.
I just found this prayer from St. Padre Pio which invites us to deepen that trust:
O Lord, we ask for a boundless confidence and trust in Your divine mercy, and the courage to accept the crosses and sufferings which bring immense goodness to our souls and that of Your Church.
Help us to love You with a pure and contrite heart, and to humble ourselves beneath Your cross, as we climb the mountain of holiness, carrying our cross that leads to heavenly glory.
May we receive You with great faith and love in Holy Communion, and allow You to act in us, as You desire, for Your greater glory.
O Jesus, most adorable heart and eternal fountain of Divine Love, may our prayer find favor before the Divine Majesty of Your Heavenly Father. Amen.
In Christ,
Father Eric
