3rd Sunday of Easter & New Pastor Appointment
My dearest brothers and sisters in Christ,
It is with great joy that I am pleased to announce that the Most Reverend Bishop Thomas has appointed Fr. Eric Mueller as the next pastor to Epiphany of the Lord Parish beginning July 1, 2020.
Fr. Eric, of Landeck, Ohio, which is five miles southwest of Delphos, is the son of Ralph and Geraldine Mueller. He studied environmental and hazardous materials management at the University of Findlay, receiving a bachelor’s degree, and went on to get a master’s in chemical engineering from the University of Toledo. After receiving his master’s degree, he began working as an engineer. In 2003 he enrolled at Saint Meinrad’s School of Theology in Indiana where he studied until his ordination in 2009. He spent his intern year at St. Michael’s Parish in Findlay.
Fr. Eric has held the position of pastor at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Defiance, Ohio since July 1, 2015. Prior to that, he served as Associate Pastor at St. Ann and St. Joseph Parishes in Fremont, Chaplain at Bishop Hoffman Catholic School, Fremont and Chaplain at St. Paul High School, Norwalk, Ohio.
Please join me in welcoming Fr. Eric to Epiphany of the Lord parish by holding him in our thoughts and prayers as we enter this time of transition especially during these unprecedented times. I prayerfully request that you extend to him the same warmth and kindness that you have afforded me over the years. I am sure his background and variety of experience will provide beneficial to Epiphany of the Lord parish.
Fr. Melwin will continue as your Associate Pastor after my departure so please continue to support him as you already have. He cannot wait for this Springtime snow to end!
May we always turn to our Lord for our needs. Fr. Melwin and I will be holding you and your families in prayer as we celebrate this holy Mass.
Lastly, please know that I will continue as your pastor until my departure…and I will continue to call the shots until then or July 1st…whichever comes first!
You remain in my thoughts and prayers! Have a blessed weekend and stay safe!
In Christ,
Rev. Gilbert Mascarenhas, SAC
